My Friend in HR is exactly what it sounds like: the friend who tells you what is really happening in HR, the way a trusted insider would, not a press release. Real talk for HR professionals, managers, and executives who want the truth, not the talking points.

What makes My Friend in HR different?
Honest, balanced advice from someone who’s still in the seat, not a consultant who left the building years ago and never looked back.
Here’s the honest origin story. For years, the best career advice I gave wasn’t on a stage or in a boardroom. It was over dinner, or a phone call that started with “got a minute?” and somehow ran ninety. Friends. Family. Former coworkers. Even other HR people, the ones who are supposed to already have this figured out, calling me instead of the other way around.
After enough of those conversations, a pattern got impossible to ignore. Good people were making career-defining decisions on incomplete information, not because they weren’t smart enough to figure it out, but because nobody had ever just told them. How to actually navigate a bad manager. How to know if that promotion is real or a rebrand. How to lead a team when nobody handed you a manual. The information existed. Almost nobody had equal access to it.
I thought about my own path a lot during that stretch, if I’m being honest, probably more than was healthy. How many detours I could have skipped, how much sooner I could have backed myself, if I’d had one person early on who would just tell me the truth. Not a mentor with an agenda. Not a LinkedIn post optimized for engagement. A friend (wink) who happened to know HR inside and out, and who wasn’t going to sugarcoat a single word of it.
My Friend in HR exists for the employee trying to figure out if they should stay or go, the new manager who just got handed a team and zero training, and the executive who is lonelier at the top than anyone warned them it would be. We built this because we believe engagement is not a nice to have. It drives better business, better cultures, and better careers, for everyone in the room, not just the people already winning.
